San Francisco City Hall Wedding | San Francisco City Wedding Photographer

Depending on how you are scheduling your ceremony at San Francisco City Hall and how many hours you book your photographer for, will determine when you should arrive and take couples portraits. This couple hired me for 2 hours. Since we knew they were having a pretty good amount of guests for their ceremony and were planning on spending time with them but didn’t need event coverage after, we decided it was a good idea to start their portraits an hour before the ceremony and spend the remaining hour capturing them interacting with their family, having their ceremony,  taking family formals and few images outside of city hall. All of which fills  up the last hour really fast.

Once in a while, I will do a 2-hour session with couples who want images at a second location and will not have any guests attending. To time the locations right, you need to take in a few factors. What time is your ceremony? Will city hall be less busy before or after your ceremony and what time is the sun setting? If your ceremony is in the morning I highly suggest getting to city hall right when they open and utilizing the hall for portraits before other couples and tourists show up. If your ceremony is already in the afternoon and we will be doing outdoor images say near the beach we will want to make sure we can wait as long as possible before going to the beach for the best light. In that case, I would say we meet at ceremony time, do city hall images then head over to the beach.

To get those grand staircase shots and utilize city hall without many people in the hall, we need to be there on off hours. That means we meet before city hall opens and start shooting as soon as they open. Or we shoot a few hours after the ceremonies by their judges have ceased.  Your next question!  “What If I have my ceremony is set for 2:30 pm and we want to do couples portraits at 8 am to have fewer people in the hall? We can! I have incorporated a small fee per hour that I charge while I am idle to make it possible to do just this!

If you are interested reach out and I’d love to chat about it and your San Francisco City Hall Wedding!

Napa County Wedding | Sylvan Manor | Lillian and Sean

Lillian and Sean had a beautiful and classy wedding on a small Manor in Angwin. If you’re like me and haven’t heard of this town before, its a small town North of  Napa. The manor is owned by a man who rents his home out to couples looking for a venue. It’s perfect. The hedges were perfectly trimmed with colorful flowers all around the property. The grass was the prettiest shade of green and the trees had lanterns hanging from them around the walkways. I couldn’t have imagined a spot more in tune with Lillian and Sean. It was like it was made for them.   The majority of their guests had flown in from New York.  They were embraced with love from across the country. I really adore Lillian and Sean. They are fun, sweet and oh so easy in front of my camera. LOVE! I loved the back of Lillians dress. Modern and classy. I LOVE this photo.  One of my favorites.Look at How beautiful she looks. My camera loved her

Oakland Latter-day Saints Temple Wedding | Janice and Richard

On August 6th 2011, Adam and I arrived at the Latter-Day Saints Temple in Oakland.  As we waited outside the doors of the temple, we looked around while photographers and other family members were all waiting for the same thing; their bride and groom to exit the doors as a happily married couple. Only a select few are allowed to be inside the actual temple and watch as couples get married. So Adam and I, Janice and Richard’s closest friends and family waited outside with excitement along with the family and friends of 16 other brides-to-be that day.

The temple is astonishing.  It’s huge! As a little girl, my family would drive past the temple on the freeway and I remember always thinking it was a castle. It’s not any smaller now than the way I remembered it. On that day it was still is a castle and Janice was the princess that became Richard’s queen.

What a sweet fairytale.

After the portraits at the temple everyone drove to the reception site to watch a ring ceremony be performed for the family and friends that were not able to witness it inside the temple.

You can check out their engagement session here.

San Francisco Saint Patrick Church Wedding | War Memorial Veterans Building | Rina and Daniel

Rina is stunning, sweet, smart and did I say stunning?  Daniel and Rina had the most gorgeous San Francisco Saint Patrick Church Wedding!  We started at the Saint Patrick’s church where they held their ceremony then moved to the beautiful  War Memorial Veterans Building.  Of course I’m the type of girl who loves to let pictures tell a story.  So sit back and scroll down to learn more about Rina and Daniels wedding and the beautiful day they had beginning as two people madly in love and ending as two people madly in love and married!!

Rina was blushing as she came in and was greeted by an amazing mariachi band while friends and  family members chanted besos!!! Rina and Daniel did not disappoint! What did I say? Stunning right?

The War Memorial is right across the street from San Francisco’s city hall. Made for a nice back drop in the court yard.

What a lucky and handsome groom.

Brentwood Wedgewood Golf Club Wedding | Maribel and Israel

It’s been way too long since I have sat down and worked on a blog post.  My life has been so incredibly busy these last couple of months and I finally have a week to just relax.  Relaxing also means not putting on any makeup until the middle of the day but Adam just asked if I want to go shopping in the city and what girl can turn something like that down? Time to bust out the good ol’ makeup box.

Maribel and Israels wedding was so pretty and very sweet. Israel is a Sergeant deployed in Iraq, so to see them together after he has been away so long was touching. I’m thankful to have been here to watch them get married and thankful for my ability to document this important day for them. The bird theme of the wedding represents a special time in Maribel and Israel’s lives together. Israel had gotten really sick and to make him feel better Maribel told him a story about a pair of birds. The birds in the story represented them and their love.  A little while later Maribel  decided to write the story and  it is now a published book.  Now that’s a fairytale come to life. This  little guy was just running around. He was no bigger then the size of my hand.  Bunnies are my favorite little animals, hence my pet rabbit Mogwai. =)   I  absolutely love this photo of them!
